Children who attend the After School Program will develop or enhance leadership and social skills, build their self-esteem, strengthen their conflict resolution abilities, academic skills, interests and hobbies. They have time to play, explore, create, learn new skills, do their homework and relax. Every day there is always free choice activities, which include, art, building, board games, cards, reading, and even a pool table, air hockey table and ping-pong. There are lots of toys and dress up for make-believe too. We have a wide variety of structured activities that are fun and interactive. We go on field trips and include Community Service projects as well. During each day we have a group meeting time that all children participate in. During this time the children are included in making decisions or suggestions as to what they want to see happen in the program. We also use this meeting time for reflection and processing of any Service Projects the group may be working on, to see what an impact they have on others.
